Last Spring of 2017, I was given the opportunity to travel up North and bring the Sweet Life Road Show to the wonderful people in Sault Ste Marie.
Our incredible team took on five high schools in five days. We tackled topics including drugs, alcohol, pedestrian safety, northern issues and even had a reenactment that included the wonderful nurses, firefighters and funeral house. It was incredible to see the amount of time and effort our partners dedicated that week and the planning that went in to ensure that each and every event went incredibly. The community was incredible and there was much to see and do in the beautiful city.
The team and I, also known as Anne Marie’s Bumblebees took on the city with the goal of doing as much as we could. Although the early mornings often led to afternoon naps in the hotel room, the Holiday Inn’s breakfast was nothing short than delicious. We were also able to try new restaurants from spicy Indian food to fresh seafood – we were eating like kings and queens. Being away from the busy and loud city, was an amazing opportunity and allowed me to see a part of Ontario I’ve never seen before. We shopped at Station Mall, visited local restaurants and explored the Bush Plane museum. Our team was able to bond well and we grew to enjoy all three meals together filled with laughs and good times.
The North was an amazing week – and I can not thank our team and partners enough.
