It’s Not Just Texting that Gets Young Drivers in Trouble!

From car surfing to speeding, racing, drifting and stunting – young drivers are putting countless lives at risk to show off on social media and encourage others to do the same.

Many new drivers feel invincible after receiving their drivers’ license, but in reality, they are the highest-risk drivers on the road. Today’s youth are entwined with social media—Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, Facebook, Twitter and other platforms that provide access to stunt driving videos that are liked and shared by millions of people worldwide. This sends the wrong message to young drivers who try to replicate popular dangerous driving videos.

Crashes are preventable. Let’s leave the stunts to the pros. What you see on the big screen is carefully choreographed using custom vehicles and professional drivers on closed sets.

Teens Learn to Drive (TL2D) is on a mission to eliminate social media driving misconceptions and other dangerous habits behind the wheel. To learn more about keeping our roads safe, visit the TL2DToday YouTube channel and listen to the ‘Before You Hand Over the Keys’, a podcast for parents, grandparents, guardians with new drivers, learning drivers, or soon-to-be drivers.
