Christmas Time and Drinking

The Christmas season is a wonderful time of year. Getting together with people and doing fun Christmas activities, but the drinks are amazing too (especially eggnog)!

Everyone knows not to drink and drive, and young people are especially good at sticking to this rule. Uber and Lyft are lifesavers and make the holiday season (and every season) more carefree because people don’t have to worry.

The key is planning your ride before you start drinking. There are many options for a safe ride like Uber/Lyft, a designated driver, having someone pick you up, cab, hotel, staying over, etc. It is important to realize, however, that not everyone makes the same smart and safe decisions that you do, which means you need to be more vigilant and aware when in a car.

Something else to be aware of are the alcoholic chocolate that are usually more popular around Christmastime. These can have a lot of alcohol in them, and people tend to have more than one piece of chocolate anyway, so that’s another way one can become impaired easily, on top any alcohol they’ve already consumed. Children also need to be monitored during this time of year so that they do not consume these candies. Store them away in a place they cannot reach.
