Getting Your  Driver Training Manual

In order to get your Level 1 license, you’ll need to pass a written test.  Your local vehicle licensing office should have an inexpensive manual you can purchase to help you prepare.  Their website should give you details. The manual contains all the information you’ll need to know to pass the test.

The test is about basic information you need to know before you sit in the driver’s seat.  There are road signs you need to be able to identify.  There are basic rules so you’ll know how to handle common situations and there’s information to help you drive safely.

Study the manual and have your co-pilot (parent) quiz you.  If you don’t understand something, make sure you ask.

This is not a test you can cram for, pass and forget about.  You really need to know this stuff so you’ll know what to do when you start your driving practices.

While you’re in the vehicle licensing office to pick up your manual, find out:

  • When you’ll be eligible to take the test
  • How and when to schedule your test
  • Where it’s held
  • How much it costs
  • What you need to bring with you to the test facility
  • Any other tips they recommend to help you prepare

When you’re ready – book your test and ‘Good Luck’!
